Urban, suburban and rural, Karen Stinnett paints places, which are often architectural and always about the abstraction that light creates on structures. The structures themselves are honest and undecorative. - Alleys, rooftops, barns, trailers and hotels make up some of the subject matter but the theme is always the abstract forms the subjects create. It is not uncommon for a collector to favor only one of these forms, collecting only urban or only rural based works. For the artist there is no division. |
